In October of 2007, with the help of the Immanuel Foundation, we were able to purchase two new 12-lead ECG machines for our rescue squads. When a patient is having chest pain, we are able to hook this monitor up to them and it will give us 12 different views of their heart. Utilizing bluetooth technology, we are able to send these different views to the hospital as we are enroute to their facility. This allows them to alert their heart teams earlier, allowing better patient outcomes. In the past, we were only able to view three different views of the heart, and we were unable to transmit this to the hospital. |
